Our primary objective is to establish and administer an association devoted to the advancement of community development, cultural enrichment, educational endeavors, intercommunication among community members, integration of diverse backgrounds, and fostering social inclusion and development within the esteemed township of Carlow.
Simultaneously, our organization, the Carlow Islamic Cultural Center (CICC), seeks to serve as a facilitator, ensuring the provision of a dedicated space within our center, namely the mosque, where devout worshippers may engage in prayers and partake in enlightening lectures. It is our steadfast commitment to guide and enable worshippers to perform their sacred acts of devotion in a manner that aligns with the authentic teachings and principles of Islam, adhering to the correct path.
By diligently upholding these objectives, we aspire to contribute to the spiritual growth, intellectual enlightenment, and holistic well-being of both our Muslim community members and the wider society of Carlow Town. We remain resolute in our mission to promote unity, harmony, and enlightenment through community development initiatives, cultural programs, education, and the creation of a space where all individuals can engage in meaningful intercommunication, foster integration, and experience the embracing embrace of social inclusion.
It was in 2014 the Carlow Islamic Cultural Centre was formed as a charity organisation and duly registered with Ireland's registration authority. Detailed constitution was formulated describing the scope of functioning of the society and responsibilities of the office bearers. With the help of Allah (سبحانہ وتعالی), we could attain it in a quick manner. In 2014 we rented a house for regular formal prayers.
As the number of young families increased we felt the need for some provision of Islamic teaching for the children as every parent's wish is to introduce their children to the basic tenets of Islam, Qur'an and socio-cultural values of Muslims. The law of the land permits all this under the umbrella of registered charity organisation. Within the ambit of Carlow Islamic Cultural Centre we can establish our prayer facility (Masjid), teaching facility (Madrasa) and facility for Religio-Socio-Cultural events like celebrating Eidul Fitr, Eidul Adha, holding lectures by local or invited dignitaries and arranging for Iftar dinner during Ramadan.
Our commitment to community development extends beyond religious and cultural activities. We actively work towards social integration by organizing events that bring people from diverse backgrounds together, fostering a sense of belonging and unity. Through collaboration with local organizations and individuals, we strive to address community needs and contribute to the overall well-being of Carlow Town.
We invite you to join us in our efforts to create a harmonious and inclusive community in Carlow Town. Whether you are interested in participating in our cultural programmes, attending educational lectures, or engaging in intercommunity initiatives, our association provides a platform for you to connect, learn, and grow. Together, we can make a positive impact and promote a thriving society in Carlow Town, Co. Carlow.
“Faithful believers are to each other as the bricks of a wall, supporting and reinforcing each other.” (Al-Bukhari)
Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "Shall I not tell you something by which Allah effaces the sins and elevates the ranks (in Jannah)." The Companions said: "Yes (please tell us), O Messenger of Allah." He said, "Performing the Wudu' properly in spite of difficult circumstances, walking with more paces to the mosque, and waiting for the next Salat (prayer) after a observing Salat; and that is Ar-Ribat, and that is Ar-Ribat."
